Getting the opportunity to collaborate with Samsung Philippines for the second time was both an exciting and fulfilling experience. It wasn’t just about trying out their latest flagship devices—it was also about enjoying great food, exploring Makati, and making new memories.
Day 1: Late Lunch at Manam Greenbelt
Our trip kicked off with a late lunch at Manam Greenbelt, where we indulged in Filipino comfort food with a twist. Their dishes always hit the right spot, and we couldn’t resist ordering some of their bestsellers:
✔ Kare-Kare with Oxtail – A rich peanut-based stew with tender oxtail, served with bagoong on the side.
✔ Sinigang na Baboy sa Sampaloc – A comforting, tangy pork soup that was perfectly balanced in sourness.
✔ Adobong Kangkong – Simple yet flavorful, with garlicky goodness in every bite.
✔ Crispy Palabok – A unique version of the classic Filipino noodle dish, featuring crispy noodles topped with shrimp sauce, chicharon, and eggs.
Free Time: Strolling Around Makati & Tim Hortons Treat
After our satisfying meal, we had some free time to explore Makati. Walking around the city, we enjoyed the modern skyline, stylish boutiques, and cozy cafés.
Of course, I couldn’t pass up the chance to try Tim Hortons! I ordered their famous Timbits and tea, and they were the perfect light snack to keep me energized for the rest of the day.
Dinner at Fely J’s
After returning to the hotel for a quick rest, we headed out again for dinner at Fely J’s, a restaurant known for its refined take on traditional Filipino dishes. The meal was nothing short of amazing, with a table full of delicious offerings:
✔ Lumpiang Sariwa – Fresh vegetable rolls drizzled with a flavorful peanut sauce.
✔ Sizzling Sisig – A crispy, sizzling dish packed with bold flavors.
✔ Fely J’s DILIS-cious Rice – A delightful rice dish topped with crispy dilis, adding texture and umami.
✔ Kare-Kare Klub – A heartwarming stew with a rich peanut sauce and tender meat.
✔ Piniritong Hito with Balo-Balo – Crispy fried catfish served with fermented paste and a soy sauce to choose.
✔ Homemade Suman with Mango – Colorful sticky rice with edible leaves, perfectly complemented by sweet mangoes and cream on top.
It was a feast that truly highlighted the beauty of Filipino cuisine.
Day 2: Event Day & Pasalubong Shopping at Mary Grace
The next morning, we had a simple breakfast at the hotel before preparing for the Samsung event. The event itself was the highlight of the trip—getting to see Samsung’s newest innovations up close was an incredible experience.
For lunch, we dined at the event venue, where food was provided for all attendees.
Afterward, we had another round of free time, and we decided to visit Mary Grace at SM Makati to buy pasalubong. From their famous ensaymadas to cheese rolls but I bought their brownies, everything was tempting! It was the perfect stop to bring home treats for our loved ones.
Airport Delays & A Lucky In-Flight Meal
After shopping, we returned to the hotel to pick up our luggage and proceeded to the airport for our flight back home to Davao City.
Unfortunately, our flight was delayed, so while waiting, we decided to grab a meal at Hen Lin, a restaurant inside the airport. I ordered:
✔ Wanton Soup Noodles – A warm and comforting bowl, perfect for the chilly airport lounge.
✔ Steamed Pork Siomai – A classic dim sum dish that’s always a satisfying choice.
✔ Steamed Pork Siomai – A classic dim sum dish that’s always a satisfying choice.
Since our flight was delayed longer than expected, we were lucky that Samsung PH arranged a meal for us. When we finally boarded the plane, we were served a sandwich and bottled water—a small but thoughtful gesture that made the trip smoother.
A Grateful Experience
This second collaboration with Samsung Philippines was truly a memorable one. From experiencing the Galaxy A56 5G and A36 5G, indulging in amazing food at Manam and Fely J’s, exploring Makati’s vibrant cityscape, and even handling an unexpected airport delay with good food and company, it was an adventure worth remembering.
A huge thank you to Samsung Philippines, Taro Aox, and Comco Mundo for making this trip possible. Looking forward to the next one!
