Yaki Yaki has become a culinary staple in my food adventures, satisfying my love for Japanese flavors across Davao City. From my first visit to their Ponciano branch, a stop at the Gaisano Mall Food Hall, to a cozy at-home delivery through Food Panda, each experience has deepened my appreciation for their flavorful dishes. Here’s a journey through my growing love for Yaki Yaki’s offerings!
First Stop: Yaki Yaki Ponciano – Ramen Set Delight
My introduction to Yaki Yaki started at their Ponciano branch, thanks to an invitation from Emman of PopDavaoPH. Excited to try their popular ramen sets, I opted for the Super Rayu Ramen Set, which included my choice of ramen alongside Katsu, rice, and two pieces of classic gyoza. The Super Rayu ramen bowl stole the show with its rich, spicy broth and tender noodles. It was hearty and satisfying, with each spoonful hitting all the right umami notes.
While I couldn’t finish everything in one sitting, I took home the Katsu, rice, and gyoza, allowing me to savor Yaki Yaki’s flavors a second time. The gyoza was crisp outside and juicy inside—a perfect pairing with the ramen’s bold flavors. I also take home Yaki Bento: Katsu with Special Yaki Rice, Yakisoba Teriyaki and sauces. This first visit left me eager to try more.

Yaki Yaki Gaisano Mall Food Hall – Crispy Karaage & Refreshing Red Iced Tea
Not long after, I found myself at the Gaisano Mall Food Hall, where I spotted Yaki Yaki’s counter again and couldn’t resist another taste. This time, I ordered the Chicken Karaage and a Red Iced Tea. The karaage was superbly crispy on the outside and juicy inside, seasoned just right with a touch of garlic and sweetness. The Red Iced Tea provided a refreshing balance, with its subtle berry notes complementing the rich, savory flavor of the chicken. This light meal was perfect for a quick mall break and showcased Yaki Yaki’s versatility in more than just ramen.
BTW, I also take out here a Ramen Set for my parents.

Bringing Yaki Yaki Home – Tantanmen Ramen Set via Food Panda
One evening, the craving struck again, and I ordered Yaki Yaki through Food Panda to enjoy their flavors from the comfort of home. I went with a Ramen Set featuring Tantanmen accompanied by Katsu, rice, gyoza and a Red Iced Tea.
The Tantanmen ramen was rich and nutty with a hint of spiciness, making it perfect for a cozy meal at home. Once again, I saved some Katsu, rice, and gyoza for later.
Note: Sorry, I don't have the time to take pictures of my order because I am late for an event.
Full Circle: Returning to Yaki Yaki Ponciano with Friends and Flavor
My journey with Yaki Yaki has come full circle, bringing me back to their Ponciano branch—this time with my social media colleagues after we attended an event. Craving Japanese flavors, we were thrilled when Emman of PopDavaoPH generously offered to treat us all to Yaki Yaki! We hopped in a GrabCar, eager to satisfy our cravings, and soon arrived at Ponciano, ready for another round of Yaki Yaki’s delights.
With so many delicious options on the table, we all ordered a variety of dishes. For my part, I decided to try the Aka Chasu Ramen, a bowl packed with rich flavors and a pleasant touch of spiciness that was surprisingly tolerable. The broth was robust and hearty, warming me up with each slurp, and the chasu was tender, adding depth to the ramen experience.
Of course, I couldn’t resist indulging in a few other treats as well. I revisited the Osaka Milkbar Strawberry Oreo Kurimu for dessert—a refreshing, creamy combination that perfectly complemented the meal’s savory dishes. And this time, I finally tried their Scallop Cheese Melt Takoyaki! With each bite, the soft takoyaki, savory scallops, and gooey cheese created a delightful flavor explosion that made it an instant favorite.
We also ordered Yaki Yaki a combination of Takoyaki & Yakisoba.
Going back to Yaki Yaki with friends made the experience even more memorable. It’s more than just a place to eat; it’s become a go-to spot for quality Japanese flavors and good company. Whether dining in solo, ordering from home, or sharing a meal with friends, Yaki Yaki continues to impress with its authentic flavors and satisfying portions. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out on one of Davao’s hidden gems!
