I am thrilled to be a part of this campaign, as I truly believe that this brand enhances the flavor of our food. Indeed, I am referring to the Ajinomoto Sarsaya® Oyster Sauce.
Although I joined the challenge with some doubts about my cooking skills, I do enjoy cooking at home and following my mother's recipes. However, I still feel that I don't quite measure up to her level of expertise.
We were instructed to prepare a unique regional dish, requiring us to create a menu that reflects the flavors of our specific area.
Chicken Curry with Durian and Ajinomoto Sarsaya® Oyster Sauce was the first recipe I tried, but it wasn't good and wasn't the right choice. I think of another recipe that has "Tatak Davao" in it.
It's impressive how I still remember the recipe for Fried Paksiw na Isda, a delicious dish that combines elements from both my mother's side in Luzon and my father's side in Matalom, Leyte Visayas region. And I named the recipe Davao Fried Paksiw na Isda with Ajinomoto Sarsaya® Oyster Sauce.
Why did I endow my recipe with the appellation Davao? Davao is also recognized throughout the Philippines as the Fruit Basket. I incorporated eggplant, a fruit that is vital to the recipe, into my preparation.
